Roonies
Maximum depth: 31 m.
Roonies is a very small reef straight out to sea from
no current. One of the highlights of the dive is a black coral that is home to long-nose Hawkfish, which is always a lovely photographic subject. There are a number of little shrimps in small ho
les at the cleaning stations. At the southern tip of the reef is a big rock with a large overhang, which is a hideout for lots of small fish. Exciting things that we have seen on this reef are Brindle Bass, Manta, and Tigershark.
This reef is where we found our very photogenic, big yellow seahorse (Hippocampus histrix), which unfortunately is no longer there, but there is a red one living there right now.
