Hot Spots

Maximum depth: 30 m. Hotspot-060531-016

One of the features of Hot Spots is that it is a ledge that runs from east to west, right on the northern edge of 2-Mile. The top of the ledge is 26m. It is often used for the deep dive of the advanced course, and has a reasonable chance of shark sightings, particularly if there is a current running from north to south. The sharks we have seen here generally are grey reef sharks, but occasionally we have been visited by either a Tiger shark or a Zambezi (Bull shark). Another interesting sighting here is the Longnose Hawkfish, who will only live in areas deeper than 26 m.
