Anton’s

Maximum depth: 18m, average depth 12 m. antons crescent tail big eye

Anton’s Reef lies right on the southern tip of 2-Mile. When there is a north – south current, its structure creates a vortex in the water which attracts huge shoals of fish that just come and chill out. This has made Anton’s a world famous reef, and is many people’s favourite dive site.

Anton’s consists of sandstone on which the coral has formed, giving it large hills and valleys.

It is a photographer’s heaven, for both antons 2

beginners and experienced photographers.

Anton’s often has a turtle relaxing, munching away at the corals or vegetation. The shoaling fish are usually Blue-banded snappers, Zebras, Humpback Snappers, and often we will find a shoal of Yellowspotted Kingfish circling above the divers. Sharks teeth can often be found in the sand. Recently we learned that some of the very old, discoloured teeth are actually fossilized teeth of long extinct sharks.
