Facts about our Reefs and Dive Sites

bottlenose_7mile

Sodwana Bay is a small town on the north-east coast of South Africa, south of the Tropic of Capricorn. It hosts one of the most southerly and beautiful hard and soft coral reefs in the world.

The Closest Harbour is Richards Bay which is more than 200km away and there are no major rivers flowing into the ocean near Sodwana Bay. This means there are very little pollutants to damage the reef.

The dive sites lie in a Marine Protected Area within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park World Heritage site.
